There’s no getting around it – liberals are some of the most hostile and angry human beings on the face of the earth. Even though some are more tolerable than others, it’s really not a stretch to say that the progressive movement consists of a bunch of left-wing malcontents who become enraged at the thought of conservatism being spread throughout the country. They are some of the most hateful individuals in the political arena today – and now there might be a scientific explanation for it.
According to a new study conducted by researchers at the University of San Diego Emotion Lab, the act of lying – regardless of whether or not its done with good intentions – is damaging to someone’s physical and mental health. The study, which built on previous research from 2012, also found that those who are honest are generally happier than those who routinely don’t tell the truth.
To arrive at these results, the researchers first looked at people who told white lies and their compassion level for the person who was being lied to. They found that the more compassion someone has for another individual, the more likely they are to tell a white lie to them.
“The effect of compassion on prosocial lying was partially mediated by the importance placed on preventing emotional harm that could occur as a result of their feedback,” the researchers explained.
Researchers also conducted a second test to determine what it is about compassion that causes people to tell white lies. They found that one of the main reasons why those who are compassionate tell white lies is so that they don’t harm or offend the person that they are lying to. However, this attempt to spare one’s feelings by not telling the truth can actually hinder happiness.
In 2012, researchers at the University of Notre Dame found that lying can have a significant impact on someone’s mental health. After analyzing a total of 110 people between the ages of 18 and 71 over a 10-week long period, with half of the group being instructed not to lie for the full ten weeks and the other half acting as the control, researchers ultimately concluded that the participants who told the truth were generally happier and experienced improvements in their personal relationships with others.
There are few people in this country who lie more than the progressive left. Whether it’s speaking to their dwindling audiences over the airwaves on CNN and MSNBC, writing for some left-wing publication like the Washington Post, or lecturing students inside of the classroom, liberals are incredibly dishonest about everything from American history to what’s best for the economy.
Who could forget when former president Barack Obama famously declared that the Affordable Care Act would make premiums go down and would enable you to keep your doctor? This was repeated over and over again, and the liberals in the mainstream media and elsewhere were happy to help out. Of course, it turned out not to be true at all – premiums skyrocketed and millions of people who liked the doctor that they had were unable to keep them, or their healthcare plans for that matter.
One of the biggest lies perpetuated by liberals in recent times is the idea that Hillary Clinton didn’t violate the law when she sent and received classified emails via her private server. Just like the lies put out about the Affordable Care Act, the liberal Democrats were eager to jump on board the “Hillary is innocent” train, even though a simple review of the Espionage Act reveals that Clinton should have been placed behind bars a long time ago.
Perhaps the progressives are always so bitter and angry because they don’t know how to be honest with themselves and with the American people. Maybe, for once, they should try telling the truth instead of wrapping themselves up in a web of lies every time they open their mouths.
