The so-called “mainstream” media has been no friend of President Donald J. Trump or his administration, with at least 90 percent negative coverage throughout his first year on the job.
In addition to that, the press has regularly published false information leaked to them by Deep State sources for the purposes of undermining the president.
Just recently, for example, The Washington Post published a false claim that the Trump White House supported the Justice Department’s stonewalling of congressional attempts to get to the bottom of several Obama-era scandals involving potentially criminal abuse of the FISA court and other nefarious activities in order to illegally spy on the president’s 2016 campaign.
In reality, the Trump White house “does not support ongoing Department of Justice (DOJ) efforts to obstruct a congressional inquiry into the agency’s activities before and after the 2016 election” wrote The Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway, based on interviews with “multiple White House and congressional officials.”
Now, rather than wait to be fed what will turn out to be bogus information, the legacy media has taken to fabricating on its own — purposefully misreporting what the president says in the latest attempt to denigrate and hamper him. In recent days Trump held a forum at the White House on so-called “sanctuary” jurisdictions — cities and states that have passed laws forbidding local law enforcement officials from cooperating in most cases with federal immigration authorities.
The worst offender is California, whose Left-wing legislature and governor, Jerry Brown, passed a sweeping sanctuary law that covered the entire state.
Many who met with Trump last week were exasperated local law enforcement officials from the Golden State upset by the sanctuary law and confused about whether to obey the state statute or federal immigration laws, which, per the Constitution, supersede local and state laws.

At one point the subject turned to members of the dangerous MS-13 gang, which are often aligned with notorious Mexican drug cartels and serve as both muscle and distribution outlets.
One California sheriff complained that her state’s sanctuary law was so restrictive that she isn’t permitted to report even MS-13 gang members in the country illegally to Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents until “they meet a certain threshold.”
A sympathetic Trump acknowledged her frustration and dilemma, calling it a “disgrace” and letting her know that his administration is not only removing “thousands” from the country who have arrived illegally but that it is working hard to rectify the situation in California, namely via a lawsuit the Justice Department has filed.
It was in that context — the context of a California sheriff who could not report an illegal alien MS-13 member to ICE — that the president next said, “These aren’t people. These are animals. And we’re taking them out of the country at a level and a rate that’s never happened before.”
But the legacy media and their Democratic Party allies in Congress didn’t report the president’s comments in that context. Rather, they fabricated what he said, claiming he was talking about all illegal immigrants.
“When the president of the United States says about undocumented immigrants, ‘These aren’t people, these are animals,’ you have to wonder, does he not believe in the spark of divinity, the dignity and worth of every person?” said House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., in comments that were like those broadcast by others on Left-wing networks like CNN, MSNBC, and others.
Trump clarified his comments on Thursday, and doubled down on his description of brutal MS-13 members as “animals.”
“I’m referring — and you know I’m referring — to the MS-13 gangs that are coming in. And I was talking about the MS-13,” said the president. “So when the MS-13 comes in, when the other gang members come into our country, I refer to them as ‘animals.’ And guess what? I always will.”
