Despite the fact that terrorists are plotting daily about how to attack the United States and other nefarious elements within the country are committing crimes and destroying lives, several high-ranking officials within the FBI and Justice Department under Barack Obama thought the more important issue was to scheme against the incoming Trump administration.
As news reports this week note, one of their most favorite techniques for harassing POTUS Donald Trump and his staff is to leak information to the press – especially false information because it is always more salacious and headline-grabbing than the truth.
During an appearance Wednesday with Fox Business host Stuart Varney, Freedom Caucus chairman Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, talked about the latest text messages recently discovered between fired FBI counterintelligence official Peter Strzok and his one-time mistress, former FBI lawyer Lisa Page.
The Gateway Pundit notes that the messages indicate how both of these Trump-hating officials discussed a strategy to regularly feed unverified information in a coordinated manner to the press in an effort to smear the administration and keep POTUS off-balance, defensive, and preoccupied.
“Remember Stuart when Michael Horowitz, the Inspector General, did his investigation he talked about the fact that one reporter had 13 different individuals at the FBI who were feeding him information,” Jordan said.
“So, there was certainly a leak strategy going on. The most troubling aspect of all of this is that remember Devin Nunes memo about what they took to the FISA Court,” he added.
“They cited media reports to buttress the dossier which we know wasn’t valid, wasn’t corroborated, wasn’t credible. But they used media reports to buttress the dossier. They were leaking information to the media that they were then using to buttress the document that they were using to then get the warrant to spy on the Trump campaign.”
So, in other words, in order to make the dossier appear valid, these two leaked details from it to the reporter, who then dutifully regurgitated the information, so that on the back-end corrupt individuals within the Deep State FBI and DoJ could ‘justify’ getting a FISA warrant to spy on one-time Trump campaign adviser Carter Page (and everyone he spoke to in the campaign, including, presumably, POTUS Trump).
The FBI has a habit of basing FISA warrant applications on open-source intelligence (OSINT) – private-sector news reporting – so why would the FISA court be suspicious of news reports citing details about the Russia dossier?
The answer, of course, is that they wouldn’t be. What’s worse, we’re learning that FBI and DoJ officials were not honest about the dossier – that its contents were not substantiated; that it was commissioned by a Democrat-aligned opposition research firm (Fusion GPS); that the Hillary Clinton campaign financed most of it; or that Nellie Ohr, the wife of ranking DoJ official Bruce Ohr, worked for Fusion and worked on the dossier.
All of this information was withheld from the FISA court, though the FBI officials feeding the garbage information to their media contact knew that it wasn’t.
Now, what about the reporter? What did he/she know about the information? Did he/she know it was fake?
There is a high likelihood of that.
Last year reports claimed that the dossier was circulated among several major establishment media outlets months before the November 2016 election, but no one published it because journalists could not verify its authenticity.
That all changed when Buzzfeed News published it in January 2017, before Trump’s inauguration, which then gave the rest of the media the angle they needed to report on it as well.
‘According to Buzzfeed News…’
The dossier is garbage. Strzok and Page knew it as did the rest of the anti-Trump Deep State. But they peddled to the press anyway in an effort to overturn an election because they didn’t like the result.
